We were very proud to be able to assist presenting two of our clients’ companies to the Enterprise Angels investment member meeting on the 11th of June.
The first up was Delloch and the HipFit hip protection system. Jono Jones worked with founder Sean O'Connor to create a presentation and deliver it in the 'Bay of Plenty Showcase'. The BOP Showcase is unique and offers local businesses the opportunity to present to the EA membership without going through the heavy duty screening process to raise awareness and encourage local businesses to think about inward investment.
The second was ISD and the Effluent to Water system. I presented with MD Richard Tyree in the only full investment slot for the evening. ISD is an exciting company that has a product that is delivering real and demonstrable environmental improvements on-farm and in industrial processing facilities. ISD has received the highest level of interest of any proposal received to date at EA, which is very exciting. I am sure there will be more to report downstream.
We have been an active part of the Enterprise Angels (EA) for several years now, and have been a corporate sponsor for the last year and half. Timothy Allan has been on the screening committee for the last 2 years. Locus team member Robin Lyttle also created the new brand and architecture for Enterprise Angels.
Some interesting facts: EA is the second largest angel group by funds invested in the last year, and seems likely to become the largest, given its continual development. EA has been driven by Bill Murphy and other key local business leaders such as Neil Craig, Steve Saunders, Daryl French, John McDonald, Dave Macfarlane, and many others. It is supported by our fantastic EDA Priority One and has a growing membership of 90-odd active members.
EA is becoming increasingly important in this region, and they have a range of exciting programmes which are under development.
