House of Science Symposium - Casting the Net

Tauranga’s own House of Science is hosting a symposium on November 6th with an exciting day of networking for the local science community. The day will open with keynote speaker Dr Siouxsie Wiles from Auckland University, microbiology PhD and expert on bioluminescent bacteria. Workshops through the day include a presentation by Timothy Allan, local teachers and science-minded businesspeople, and trade stands with spot prizes on offer. After lunch we’ll hear from the second keynote speaker, Dr John Campbell, initiator and organiser of the "Ask-A-Scientist" programme, and producer of the documentary - Rutherford.

Come along to this exciting event. There will be something for teachers (primary and secondary), tertiary students, researchers, scientists and local science industry representatives.
