An alumnus of New Zealand’s leading customer experience agency, Daniel brings his deep appreciation for human-centred design to the practical and commercial realities of research and development. An experienced project manager, he has driven complex, multi-disciplinary projects from strategy through to delivery.
Daniel has been balancing human centered thinking with innovation from early on, beginning with bachelor’s degrees in both History and Digital Commerce from the University of Auckland. Immediately following, he entered an intensive 9 month internship in Philosophy, Politics and Economics with the Maxim Institute. From those early days, he’s continued to work to integrate the practical outputs of innovation with the three-dimensional nature of human experience.
Daniel cut his teeth on complex projects at Total Communications, a boutique digital commerce agency supplying sophisticated B2B eCommerce systems and integrated, consumer-facing websites to the likes of Torpedo7 and DFS Galleria.
From there, Daniel took up the role of Brand Manager at Cure Kids – a charity funding medical research with outcomes for child health in New Zealand and organiser of Red Nose Day. There he was responsible for delivering the new Cure Kids brand, both tangible brand assets and intangible brand behaviours and culture. While there, he had a key role in the delivery of Red Nose Day 2012 and 2013 (featuring the All Blacks and New Zealand Rugby). The 2013 year included a record 1.2 million dollars donated to Cure Kids.
In 2013, Daniel transitioned to a new role as Senior Account/Project manager at DNA Designed Communications, one of New Zealand’s leading Service Design agencies. His experience there involved management of projects spanning multiple industries, disciplines, and outputs, from delivery of sophisticated food packaging systems for use in private aviation to complex web applications with multiple integration points.
Daniel has recently joined Locus Research in mid-2015 and has jumped head first into the final stages of the Balex Marine Automatic Boat Loader project.
Daniel’s breadth of experience, passion for innovation and skills in Project Management and Human Centred Design makes him a unique fit for Locus Research and a valuable new member of the team.
